Telestream Vantage Covers IPTV, VOD & Cloud Workflows |
| Telestream Vantage products carry out and manages file-based video transcoding with speed, quality and format support for post, broadcast, cable, IPTV and multiscreen environments. Vantage Transcode IPTV VOD, just launched at NAB 2013, is video transcoding software developed specifically for broadband and cable service providers to automate content preparation and delivery for IPTV and cable VOD workflows. It aims to achieve high quality video at low bit rates with high levels of control for Transport Stream multiplexing and metadata, through GPU acceleration using Telestream’s Lightspeed system. |

The GPU-accelerated H.264 encoding from Vantage Transcode IPTV VOD uses using the x264 codec, which can substantially reduce bit rates and preserving or increasing quality. This results in a better viewer experience and may also lower transmission costs. New formats for Vantage transcoding include HEVC H.265, updates to x264 H.264, plus AMWA AS-02 and AS-11, as well as DPP AS-11 MXF files. The software can help a provider control Transport Stream video, audio, and metadata by integrating Manzanita Systems systems. The Vantage line-up of products can now carry out GPU accelerated transcoding for all screens plus workflow orchestration - used alone, clustered to increase capacity, or added to an existing Vantage ecosystem. Vantage includes tools for workflow planning, management and monitoring. Workflows can be extended to include analysis, automated decision-making and enterprise system management to customise efficiency, system utilization and visibility within the system. Telesteam and AsperaTelestream and Aspera have made Aspera faspex high-speed delivery available for Vantage, enabling fast, secure ingest and distribution of file-based media and metadata that Vantage manages and automates. |

Telestream Vantage provides video transcoding and intelligent workflow orchestration products, from single-server systems for automating transcoding, to very large, multi-server systems that produce and assemble large quantites of finished media packages. It puts transcoding, media capture, metadata processing and analysis into a unified system. With Aspera faspex directly integrated into Vantage, operators can now incorporate secure, high-speed file transfer and delivery of a single file or groups of files to an Aspera server as part of a video workflow. Recipients are notified upon package delivery and can download the package with any Aspera faspex client including the Connect browser plug-in, iOS or Android mobile faspex app, Cargo automatic downloader, or the Aspera faspex Add-in for Outlook. |

Telestream has extending Vantage file-based video transcoding media processing, analysis and packaging automation to pay-as-you-go, cloud-based environments. The purpose is to help users respond to new formats, regulatory requirements and fluctuating work levels more quickly, dynamically scaling media processing up or down as needed. Telestream also announced a partnership with Amazon Web Services for its initial deployment. Vantage Cloud creates a secure workflow system that provisions Vantage transcoding software at hosted services like AWS. This includes CPU or GPU-based transcoding, media analysis, automated decision making and third-party system integration. |

VidChecker QC IntegrationTelestream is integrating Vantage video transcoding and workflow orchestration products with VidChecker QC, VidCheck’s auto QC software. Because broadcasters and content producers require their own mix of outputs, often with one-off custom versions for different clients, VidChecker allows users to do an independent check to ensure that the different versions created by Vantage exactly match the versions required by the end client. Due to the product integration, VidChecker QC appears as an icon in the Vantage GUI. Users select VidChecker QC as part of the workflow, choose the testing template and then see the QC results within the Vantage interface. The quality control results can be used to select further steps in the workflow. VidChecker can also correct more common video and audio problems in file-based media and ensure that post production content, commercials, music videos, and other types of file-based media from content distributors are ready for distribution and play out on web services, VOD and TV broadcasts. www.telestream.net |
