The University, or VGIK, is among the world’s first film schools, and prepares students for working in professional film and video through the opportunity to manage film and television projects in a professional environment. In addition to the VGIK’s students, the academy offers post production training to internal and external filmmakers and business school staff. VGIK built a theatre-sized preview suite with a 3D projector, individually adapted to the academy’s stereoscopic projects. The CLIPSTER DI workstation generates 3D Digital Cinema Packages in real time and can handle or accelerate DCI Mastering and 3D subtitling. The CLIPSTER manages other post production steps, such as processing RAW data in real time, creating a single timeline from a range of different RAW data, such as material from RED, ARRI D-20/D-21, Phantom or SI-2K cameras. RAW formats can be decoded and demosaiced in real time. The rendering and DCI Mastering functions allow students to process high-resolution film data. It is the mastering, conforming and multi-format capabilities that make the workstation especially useful for VGIK. www.dvs.de |
