| "When you work in stereo, there are always certain discrepancies between the two eyes," said Steven Shapiro, lead stereographer and director of software and pipeline at Method. Steven said that the service at Method has developed from their VFX pipeline, and that while many VFX companies offer similar services, the relationship between Company 3 and Method synergy speeds up the integration of the work into the DI process. When alignment issues come up during grading of stereoscopic projects, Company 3's DI theatre is located within Method's neighbouring Santa Monica facility, where the problem can usually be identified, fixed and dropped it back into the timeline while the colour grading session continues. Company 3 has colour graded many major stereoscopic releases, including ‘Alice in Wonderland’, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ and the upcoming ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ and ‘Fright Night’, has already made use of their joint service for ‘Pirates’, ‘Transformers’ and ‘Fright Night’. Both Method Studios and Company 3 are part of the Deluxe Entertainment Services Group, which has also recently acquired StereoD 2D-to-3D conversion company. www.company3.com www.methodstudios.com www.bydeluxe.com |
