Metro Screen Jump Start Funding Prepares to Jump

Metro Screen’s Jump Start production grants program, offering $45,000 toward
equipment and facilities to offset production budgets, is now calling for its second
annual Metro-screen-jump-startround of applications on 2 July. .

The Jump Start program provides subsidized access to industry standard equipment, studio and post production facilities at Metro Screen. Some cash contribution is required from the applicant, and Metro Screen advises that applications should be realistic about the amount of support sought. Applications for the Jump Start production subsidy grants are due in three rounds. The first was on 2 April, the next is 2 July and the third is 5 November 2012.

Feature documentary ‘Where the Streets have No Name’ by Vijaykumar Mirchandani, which was supported through the Jump Start production subsidy program 2010, won six awards, received nine international screenings including a short listed nomination for the IF Award for Rising Talent and took out the top honour at the Redemption Film Festival in the US.  www.metroscreen.org.au
