Workflowers Infrastructure/Cloud Extends Studio Services Globally
Published on Wednesday, 16 May 2012
Workflowers, based in France, is using its telecommunication partners around the world to provide
new on-demand infrastructure services to production and postproduction facilities.
| The purpose is to help studios, from specialized boutiques to global corporations, avoid spending excessive time on network, security, power and AC problems. Access is available through a direct connection for maximum bandwidth using optical fibre, or simply through the internet. People can work together from home, a hotel or an office in a transparent and secure way. | |

| The renderfarm facility computes images on on-demand servers that you manage as your own network. Hybrid GPU/CPU computers and high-availability storage provide the resources to complete projects when your local space or electrical power are limited. | |

| For data moving and synchronisation using online storage, an operator can access footage either through an internet connection or through the local network if the facility is connected to Workflowers’ optical fibre network. Data can also be synchronized or transferred between multiple sites. Storage infrastructure is optimized for performance and low cost, depending on the type of usage, useful for archiving projects while keeping your footage always available. | |

| Remote workstations can be provided using PCoIP systems, providing performance with security over a single terminal or a laptop. Workflowers’ platform hosts your applications and your whole rendering and storage infrastructure. CrUB, the company’s collaborative environment, is for sharing contacts, tasks, documents and gaining an instant overview of your project. A multi-client HD videoconferencing system can also be set up that allows up to 10 people in a virtual meeting room. It includes image, sound and screen sharing using a webcam on a laptop to high end telepresence systems. Remote project reviewing of sequences is possible with the remote HD reviewing tools. You can stream SDI to SDI or to webstream, and to ensure monitoring is correct viewing devices can be calibrated. www.workflowers.net |
