stores and supermarkets.

| The applications debuted at the Digital Signage World Exhibition in Sydney on 9 June and include a digital mirror ‘MiMirror’ that integrates social media with the customer’s shopping activity in-store, facial recognition order matching for supermarkets, and audience measurement scanning, which retailers use to target real time content to suit their consumers. The applications run on Yeahpoint’s yeahWARE CORE9 software platform which allows the software to integrate with third party applications on most operating systems, making it possible to customise the products to suit different retailers. | |

| The MiMirror application is a touch screen and digital mirror customers use in-store with Facebook to share their shopping experience with friends and family. For example, a customer can try on products such as clothes or accessories, and use the mirror to take photographs to compare how items look and share with friends online for a second opinion. At the checkout stage in supermarkets, Yeahpoint is using facial recognition in a matching application that can match customers’ faces with orders to prevent miss-matching and move queues faster. Facial recognition is also the basis of an audience measurement tool, which can be integrated with another application or used independently. It scans and measures customer characteristics such as size, gender, age and in some cases, mood. The data is then used to tailor digital content in real time to suit their profile. At the same time, organisations are collecting data on the types of people interested in their brand. Privacy issues are managed via an ‘opt in’ mechanism to make sure the customer can decide whether they want to be scanned or not. Yeahpoint CEO John Anderson believes that Yeahpoint’s use of CORE9 integration software to adapt the applications to existing platforms sets them apart from similar products and increases their potential. www.yeahpoint.com |
