Kodak Calls for Entries in 2013 Student Scholarship Program |

Cinematographer John Bailey ASC will lead a panel of judges for the 2013 Kodak student scholarship program. This international competition acknowledges student filmmakers who demonstrate outstanding filmmaking skills and creativity at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Accredited film schools around the world may nominate up to two students for consideration for the KODAK Student Scholarship Award, and one cinematography student for the KODAK Student Cinematography Scholarship Award. The cinematography student nominee may also be nominated for the KODAK Student Scholarship Award. |

| Bailey has a long list of feature film credits including ‘American Gigolo’, ‘Ordinary People’, ‘The Big Chill’, ‘Silverado’, ‘The Accidental Tourist’, ‘Groundhog Day’, ‘In the Line of Fire’ and ‘As Good as it Gets’. He also contributes to blogs for the American Society of Cinematographers called John’s Bailiwick on topics that affect the art and craft of filmmaking. Kodak’s marketing director Johanna Gravelle said that, as a part of the scholarship process, students will receive feedback from John to assist in their efforts to succeed in filmmaking, and that the company is very grateful for his ongoing commitment to the program. Kodak, in collaboration with the University Film & Video Foundation www.ufva.org, holds this annual scholarship to encourage students pursuing a career in filmmaking. As part of the competition, the judges will review sample reels, as well as evaluate the students’ faculty recommendations and academic achievements. The deadline for entries is 17 May 2013. |

The prizes for the Gold, Silver and Bronze Student Scholarship Awards and First Place and Honourable Mention Student Cinematography Scholarship Awards, will be awarded to the finalists and announced in August 2013, and are made up of a tuition scholarship and a Kodak motion picture film grant.
