Visual Playground - Australia's Next Top Model

AEAF ENTRY The brief for the opening titles for ‘Australia’s Next Top Model’ was to create a sophisticated,
edgy, fashion-forward opener that reflects the current trends for the fashion industry. 

The team explored the idea of ‘flowing fabric’ as a conceptual aesthetic, which inspires a modern and artful approach to the overall design direction. The dark, moody treatment with sensual lighting & dramatic windswept hair helps to convey the feeling of mystery. The colour palette of teal, crimson, pink and gold, contrast against the velvety black backgrounds.
The live elements of the opener were filmed in one day at a green screen studio space in Sydney. Along with the live action shoot, an asset shoot was needed to gain reference/stock footage of several flowing fabrics under different environmental conditions.  All the footage was shot on RED at a high frame rate and a 2K resolution.
The end result is a fast-paced opener with quick cuts, intertwined with moments of slow motion to create high energy, visual impact that complements the edgy music track.  www.visualplayground.com.au
